SSCMF ... where Music and Paradise Mix!

Now into its 16th acclaimed year of west coast performances, the Salt Spring Chamber Music Festival (SSCMF) showcases an outstanding variety of the greatest works from the chamber music repertoire for loyal standing-room audiences, all performed on the intimate stage of ArtSpring Arts Centre on Salt Spring Island, B.C. Embracing the rich literature of Romantics such as Chopin and Dvorak and stretching from Bach to Black (Arthur!), the festival's artists passionately delve into the wonder and mysteries of this most personal music-making. For all of this, and even occasional Icelandic music mixed together with cutting-edge contemporary artists, Salt Spring Island provides an idyllic and inspirational setting for thrilling new musical discoveries.
Whether as participant or audience member and Friend of SSCMF, I look forward to greeting you this summer at the 2018 Festival.

Rising Musical Stars

In 2008, the faculty artists of the Salt Spring Chamber Music Festival opened the festival to include a select number of gifted young artists who wish to immerse and challenge themselves in the performance experience of chamber music. Working side-by-side with faculty and guest artists, string and piano students are mentored through group-coaching, masterclasses, solo opportunities, as well as string orchestra and chamber music performance experience. Admission to the intensive one-week festival course is by audition.
